Vorführungen auf Festivals und in Museen auf der ganzen Welt.

Lecture ‘meet the artist’ im Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C. und Vorführung von «Reminiscences of a Journey to Lithuania». Dieser Film wird vom United States National Film Preservation Board in seiner jährlichen Auswahl von 25 Filmen zur Aufbewahrung durch die Library of Congress' National Film Registry empfohlen. Mekas’ Filme werden auch an der Art Basel gezeigt. Mekas wird an der Award Ceremony der Los Angeles Film Critics Association für seinen substantiellen Beitrag zur amerikanischen Filmkultur geehrt.

2007
Eröffnung des Jonas Mekas Visual Arts Center in Vilnius, Litauen, mit Ausstellungen zu Kunst und Filmsammlungen von Mekas und seinem Freund George Maciunas, Gründer von Fluxus Art Movement. Pläne zum Bau eines Fluxus Research Institute.

Jonas Mekas lebt und arbeitet in New York.
